summer school 2024

In Summer 2024 workshops are provided by PHD candidates from the Music Department of University of California San Diego.

We plan 2 workshops on Neural Networks in application to Music Technology:

• “Expressive Music Data Processing and Generation with LSTM-Attention Neural Network” with Jingwei Liu

• “Neural Networks for Sound Synthesis and Music Generation” with Tornike Karchkhadze

Summer 2024

This year we partner with crossborder cultural institutions to collect diverse  student groups. Our partners are: NettNett (MX), SA)) (INT).

Participation is free, but limited to 15 individuals per workshop.

If there are more applicants than available spots, a selection process will be conducted by the workshop tutor and a representative from the local partnering institution. The tutor has the discretion to extend the participant count.

All classes will be given in English language.

Geographical targeting

Structure for each workshop:

• Saturday – 4 or 5 hours with a break – real-time in ZOOM

• Sunday – 4 or 5 hours with a break – real-time in ZOOM

• Mon, Tue – work on home task with async supervision in chat (Telegram)

• Wednesday or other day – task submission and feedback (optional in ZOOM or in chat)

  We recommend to install Telegram, which will be the main communication tool in this school.
